OUR FEATURED ARTIST
C. Rivera
Challen Rivera is a Southwest Florida native with Southern and Caribbean heritage whose work is heavily influenced by her mother and mentor, notable artist Wanda Hamilton.
Rivera’s art style is typically bold, colorful, and contemporary with a focus on portraiture. She’s also an illustrator, muralist, instructor, and businesswoman, serving as Managing Partner for Southstar Creative LLC, a dynamic design and branding firm founded by her sister, Allecia Hamilton.
Challen and our Founder Lisa Gruenloh met at a women’s conference in fall 2023 and connected immediately. With a shared love of both art and journaling, the “Artist of Your Life” journal became the perfect initial collaboration. As we were getting to know Challen, we learned that she was introduced to journaling as a child by her grandmother, Esther Pearl Stewart, whom she affectionately called “Grandhoney”.
During an interview with Challen about our collaboration, she shared this precious story. Little did we know her Grandhoney would pass away just weeks after this conversation.

David Lawrence Centers for Behavioral Health
Each time we launch a new box, we identify a non-profit organization to share our inspirational goodies and resources. With the launch of the Artist of Your Life box, we were delighted to support David Lawrence Centers for Behavioral Health (DLC), the leading provider of mental health services in Collier County, Florida.
In collaboration with Judge Janeice Martin, a truly visionary leader in the judicial system, DLC operates a highly successful, nationally recognized mental health and drug court program, which diverts non-violent offenders with substance use and drug-related criminal activity from the criminal justice system by offering them an opportunity to proactively deal with their dependence rather than face punitive alternatives.
For several years, Purpose Journey® has worked with adult drug court participants through monthly workshops to support their growth, well-being, and the development of vital emotional, social, and behavioral skills.
We were especially excited to take the participants through our Life Visioning Experience over a two-month period and gift each person with one of the paintbrush pens and the intention-setting coffee mugs that are part of this box.
